Hi Eleanor,
I have just googled the topic of talking remote controls and have drawn a
blank.
The closest I came is a PC TV receiver card that has ability to receive
audio description and talking menus to choose programs in advance and to
record same onto your hard drive. Phone for this is not answering at moment but will keep trying, maybe tonight. This device is only for free to air of
course.
Kind regards
Aedan.

I know there will be a huge archieve of numerous e-mails on the access-uk
discussion list with regard to this topic. Maybe a amember of this list who

is on the list would look this up for you and prjovide you with a contact to

discuss it or alternatively I am sure you could join the list temporarily to

find out the information. I do not use Sky so this is why I cannot be of
any further help.

Hi Eleanor,
Very interesting. I have asked the Sky team who are
Now based in Cork about help for visually impaired use of the Sky plus box
and they did not mention any other type of control.
Aedan.

In the UK I am fairly sure that this control is speech controlled for
blind
people. I think there are members on this list who are on the UK Access
mailing list who may be able to help you or make enquiries for you. I
used
to be on that list but am not now so cannot assist.

Hi all,
I recently broke out and got Sky Plus. I soon learned that using the new
remote controls was quite difficult. I rang Sky but they weren't any help
to
a blind person. So I got my wife, Barbara, to go through the commands to
use
the recorder with me. The whole thing is very visual, but I sussed out
how
to use them with no assistance as follows:
Feel free to add to these instructions and if you find something vetter
