Hi Loretta,
Thanks for letting us know there was a problem. I updated skype to 3.5 last
evening and thought this was the problem when I could not connect. I hope I
did not do wrong as I went into update on the menu and it started to download.
Do we need scripts for Skype as Stuart said before they were not necessary?
Thought I had lost everything over weekend as lightening damaged my computer,
apparently, came through the phone line. The phone card had to be replaced but
otherwise all is well. I have been told there is a special 6 way, surge
protector to prevent this happening which costs €20 which I have ordered. I
had the overriding computer socket switch off at the time and thought this was
sufficient.
Anyway, all is well that ends well.

  Hi all,

Just to let you all know that today I am having problems with Skype
connecting to the Internet and I have tried different ways of trying to solve
this but to no avail. So as I am on a Skype mailing list I found the below
information and thought it might be of some help to anybody that is having the
same problem:

  Start:
  Subject: Skype login problems

Some of you may be having problems logging into Skype. Our engineering team
has determined that it’s a software issue. We expect this to be resolved within
12 to 24 hours. Meanwhile, you can simply leave your Skype client running
and as soon as the issue is resolved, you will be logged in. We apologise for
  the inconvenience.
  End

As you can see from the above I think it best for me to just give it a chance
and perhaps it will be resolved by Skype it self.

Hope ye are all ok with your connections!

  Best regards,

  Loretta

Subject: [vip_students] Placing a google shortcut on the desktop

  Hello Paul,

In relation to step 9 to12 to create a shortcut for google, could you please
advise
why I am not able to complete the shortcut.

  Step 10.
Focus on google by pressing g as previously mentioned on step 9, but step 10
going into properties, pressing alt +enter brings me into google properties
not volume properties, which gives me web document page.

I would be grateful if you could assist with the above query.

  Kind regards,

  Eleanor McLoughlin
