Tony you should most certainly install the latest avast version as support
for the older version you have will run out soon. Its just that when you go
to install the new version, even from the link I have given you below you
will still be prompted to install the Google Chrome browser which you should
not.

Hi Paul,

Well I didn't install it at the time so maybe it won't prompt me again re
that version anyway!

Do you have the link to download the latest version?

Thanks,

Tony Sweeney

        Hi Tony,

You are being prompted to update to the new Avast 5. You should do
this but
with just a word of caution. When the installation of the new update
begins,
you will be asked in a multiple choice question if you wish to use
"Express
installation with the Chrome browser" or use "Express installation
without
the Chrome Browser", I recommend that you do not install the Chrome
browser
as it can cause other problems down the road. Just use the tab key
to come
to this list of options and down arrow to the Express installation
without
chrome. Once you have chosen this, go to next or install and it will
begin
the installation. By the way it's a female voice now on Avast.

        Paul.

        Hi Folk,

I was asked in a message if I wanted to install the latest Avast.

Is it necessary to do that?

While I'm on, I don't hear that voice telling me that Avast is
installed
anymore but it did in the early stages of my current Avast.

It now says by Jaws, Avast information.

I'm quite sure though that the programme is doing it's job but any
thoughts
on the latest of what to do?

        Cheers,

        Tony Sweeney
