Eamonn,You can use broadband alongside Eircom phonewatch but you need to install a DSL filter on each telephone. This is a little device that you plug into the phone socket in the wall. Then you plug the telephone into that instead of direct into the wall socket. They cost in the region of 10 Euro and you will need one for each telephone you have. It does something to stop phonewatch introducing noise in the system that interferes with the broadband. That's my decidedly untechnical understanding of it. The same goes for telephone-based security systems other than Eircom. My father-in-law had this problem and after I installed two of these devices it was solved.

Hi folks,I seem to recall hearing something about not being able to use broadband (via a phone line,) in conjunction with Eircom's Phonewatch. As I don't have an alarm, I could well be mistaken on this point - maybe worth checking out, Gavin - just in case.Good luck with the apartment. You could give them a call and check out the details.
