one of the problems we would have now with RFBD, which theoretically at least is a pretty good source, is that they restrict the availability of much or all of their DAISY content (in which they produce the vast bulk of their material now) to the US.

Hi mairéad,

You could also try Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic

www.rfbd.org

Who are a library in the US specialising in providing text books in
accessible formats. You will need to pay to be a member, but this is
straightforward enough as long as you can get proof of visual impairment
from a doctor etc.

Also, RNIB in the uk usually have a range of third level text books and you
could try them as well.

Tim

Subject: [vicsireland] Accessing third level education text books online

Hi All
I would appreciate it if anyone could tell me if there are any websites that I could download or read text books for college. I am useing jaws 8 at the
moment but will be upgrading to 11 soon. I would also appreciate it if
someone could let me know if E bury works with jaws as I would be able to
access college books in the library through this system.

Thanks in advance
