Hi Michael. Note that I left the language switch on Spanish and turned
off and back on. The switch of language stuck.
Too bad I didn't have this tablet when I took Spanish 50 years ago.
Need alot of brush-up. LOL.

I didn't go to Help but, I would bet a dollar to a donut that this
switch to another language is built into the total Fire OS, including
default programs and apps including Help.
That means that Amazon has created a tablet with translations for
multiple languages throughout the complete system, although I imagine
this is a pure android thing as well.
Tell me if this is the change that you are looking for.
By the way, did you set-up your Fire here in the states or where you
are now? If where you are now, I bet that the Fire set-up you with
German because it picked up your location and set the language as
German. However, if I can change this option, you should be able to
as well.
Additionally, I don't think you need to be offline to do the change. I
did all of the above while my Fire was connected online.
