Hello everyone,
In June, I purchased a Kindle Fire while in the States on the sad occasion of
the death of my father. While there, I didn’t spend too much time with the
unit, because family matters were more important. While over there, I only set
up the fire with my Amazon and Google account information.
When I returned to Vienna, Austria, where I live, I decided to really start
trying to familiarize myself with my Fire so that I could start enjoying it.
Unfortunately, I have had some issues with the Kindle that have made my
experience getting to know the unit less than positive. Most of these issues
are language-related.
Frequently, when attempting to get into pages where the use of the Kindle is
described, I am automatically directed to German pages which, in and of itself,
wouldn’t be a problem. Unfortunately, however, my Kindle Fire does not switch
to German. In all truthfulness, I would prefer getting all of my Kindle and
VoiceView documentation in English. Reading German poses absolutely no problem
for me, but I can’t get the Kindle Fire to speak German.
So I have two questions:
1. Even though I live in a German-speaking country, can I force my Kindle Fire
to take me to English-written pages for Kindle and VoiceView documentation?
2. How can I get my unit to use German speech output, and what gesture
accomplishes this?
Thanks so much in advance, and have a great weekend!
Mike
