Scenting has a variety of aspects to it. There is air scenting, when an animal will stick its nose in the air and try to capture the scent and then there is tracking. I've seen documentaries with wild horses and it looks more like they air scent. They air scent to smell for predators, search for in season females etc. That is different than finding something on the ground. Although I've seen horses snort at objects that are on the ground. I don't know if they are sniffing it or actually looking at it funny. I would be very interested to see if horses can scent objects and discriminate objects on the ground. I'm sure someone out there knows the answer. -- Christy Hill A'Mickey *************** http://home.att.net/~care4k9
