Our group of seven tallied 38 species. The red-shouldered hawk was at the
second overlook and a flock of white throats with the one song sparrow just
beyond. It was nice to have coots and wigeons with our usual complement of
waterfowl. Our favorites continue to be the stunning common mergansers which
navigate the higher/faster river effortlessly. Last week, while certain at the
time based on our observations and field guides, further research determined we
saw a tundra swan without the yellow. All birders are welcome to join this
regular Sunday morning walk that meets in the visitors center parking lot at
