A morning walk along the canal path in Fredericksburg yielded 45 species.
Along with the usual suspect:
Wood Duck 7, including one lone baby all alone.
Mallard 8; one mother had 10 small ducklings with her
Osprey 2
Bald Eagles 3
Red-shouldered Hawk 1
E. Phoebe 1
E. Kingbird 4
Tree Swallow 1
Barn Swallow 14 (Nesting under route 1 bridge)
House Wren 2
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher 5
E. Bluebird 1
Gray Catbird 9
Brown Thrasher 1
White-eyed Vireo 2
Red-eyed Vireo 4
N. Parula 9
Yellow-rumped Warbler 17
Common Yellowthroat 4
Northern Cardinal 34 including 1 juvenile.
White-throated Sparrow 4
Red-winged Blackbird 28
Indigo Bunting 2
Orchard Oriole 9
Baltimore Oriole 4
and 1 Pine Siskin on a feeder in my yard this afternoon.
