Hi Richard ... just for your info, you can get to the "Services" by clicking
Start | Programs | Administrative Tools | Services. I am running XP Pro, but
it's probably in the same place. There are a LOT of services and by double
clicking the name of the service, it will open a tabbed box showing 4 tabs
... the 2 outside ones (General and Dependencies) are the 2 you are
interested in. The general tab will tell you the name, description, path to
executable and mode of running (automatic, manuall or disabled). You can
also stop or start a service from the general tab. The dependencies tab
shows what the service depends on to run and also what other services are
dependent on the service you are looking at, to run. When you unchecked
"Load System Services", everything was perfect (as quoted by you above)".
Perhaps turning off one of these services will do the trick, although it
could be a lot of work to disable one at a time. I know a lot of these do
not need to be running, but the dependencies are important to other
services. Just a thought that may help. Good Luck!!

Howard
