I saw a (transistor) clock radio at V.V. for $20, not working. I went to the
manager and offered $10, but they were firm on the price, they said it was
priced accordingly in non-working condition. Indeed it was a 70's clock radio
and looked very nice, but I didn't need another project for $20 and I left it
behind.
It appears that ebay has ruined the local market and all the good deals are
gone now.

Subject: [torontocbm] Re: Commodore PET 4016 at Value Village, Toronto
I know they are trying to maximize on the money, but they got it for free. Why
not tag at it $199.99 and move it. We have a V. V. here in Hamilton that had an
Atari 400 with an upgraded keyboard missing 25% of the keys, a tape deck, some
carts, dirty as if left outside for a while, and it was either $169 or $179 as
is. Still might be there.

The Value Village at Bloor/Lansdowne in Toronto has a PET 4016 in their
showcase, with a datasette included. The sticker price is $499. Didn’t bother
trying to test it as I wasn’t prepared to drop that kind of cash on a “No
Returns” PET. But if anyone thinks that’s a good deal for a potentially working
PET, it’s still there! Guessing it might be there for awhile.
