Thanks, Richard and Buck.  I apologize for taking so long to get back to these 
two moths.

Richard:  I think you are correct – at least, those are the IDs I’m going with.

Buck:   When I initially came across photos of Heliocheilus lupatus, I thought 
I’d found a ID, but the sightings records on BugGuide show it to be a fall moth.

Marvin I believe one is a (top) 10487 Ruby Quaker (Orthosia rubescens) and the 
other one is 10495 10495 Speckled Green Fruitworm Moth (Orthosia hibisci).

I keep having a nagging feeling I’m overlooking the obvious, but I’m not having 
any luck identifying these two moths.  I’m not even certain they are the same 
species.  I thought Corn Earworm (Helicoverpa zea – 11068), but that doesn’t 
look right and it’s the wrong time of year.
