[TN-Bird] Re: State Birds

Before we jump on any bandwagons, it might be worth reviewing the 
historical role that the Tennessee Ornitholocigal Society and numerous 
grade-school children had in the original selection of the Mockingbird as 
the state bird of TN in the 1930s.  See, for example, this link from The

Also note, that Northern Bobwhite IS the official state game bird of TN.

The TN-Bird Net requires you to SIGN YOUR MESSAGE with
first and last name, CITY (TOWN) and state abbreviation.
You are also required to list the COUNTY in which the birds
you report were seen.  The actual DATE OF OBSERVATION should
appear in the first paragraph.
