Thank you, Jeremy!

This key worked perfectly!

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local
Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell

Thanks,

Roger

Hi Roger,

It depends on the type of folder. Ie. Local or network, etc. Here’s some good
info:
http://www.sepago.de/d/nicholas/2009/04/21/how-vistaserver-2008-handle-folder-views

I’ve written a script which will help you understand. It’s based on this one
http://www.jhouseconsulting.com/2009/05/09/mastering-the-default-explorer-views-for-windows-xp-and-2003-280,
but for Windows 2008 based on the Sepago article.

Cheers,

Jeremy.

Subject: [THIN] user settings for folder views in 2008 r2

Hi all,

Does anybody know what I need to track with Flex profiles (or in my case User
Settings in RES) to retain folder views? Like, detail, list, small icon, etc.

I’m currently tracking this tree, but it isn’t working:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\UserAssist

I’m using Windows 2008R2 and XenApp 6.

Thanks!

Roger
