Hi Phillip,

R01 really isn't your normal hotfix/patch because it does it's thing by
running some VBscripts regfiles etc.

However, one of the things the the R01 install does is stop the ADF
installer service, which technically shouldn't break things, but from what
you've experienced it obviously does.

I've always avoided using IM for Citrix patches, for the same reason that
you don't do manual patching of the Citrix product from inside an ICA
session. You might be painting yourself into a corner.

But back to your problem. I'd be tempted to try using IM to kick of a batch
file that run msiexec /update againt R01 (package run external program with
installer). That's far enough removed from the installer that it should work
without problems.

regards,

Rick

gang,

anyone else seen issues with pushing the r01 for ps4 through
installation manager? I'm working with Citrix on this one trying to
uncover the problem. installation manager reports the install as failed
and logs the following event log on the destination server. What's weird
is that the patch does install, apparently correctly, and shows up in
add/remove programs.

Event Type: Error
