Thanks for the response - am I going in the right direction for cost and the number of users I need added to the network? I really don't want to look at setting up a frame relay connection or VPN to the remote site. Most likely they will only require one application and possibly email, however the app is a real bandwidth hog and is very unresponsive across a VPN. Eventually I will have the one remote office with the 10 users and up to 5 smaller branches with 3-5 users at each location. What about the head office - what kind of pipe inbound should I look at as a minimum? The printing should be rather small, single page call reports and the odd email attachment. _____ From: Steve Greenberg [mailto:steveg@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Friday, November 07, 2003 9:18 AM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: Speed requirements Without a doubt, a T1 is far more than what is needed for 10 ICA users plus some other surfing. The only caveat is if they are doing LARGE remote print jobs which amount to transferring large files, i.e. hundreds of pages or intensive graphics....even then a full T1 is more than most small offices have and should work great. I plan on just giving them accounts on the network and giving them access to our Citrix farm. Will a single full T1 line at their location provide these 10 users fast enough access across the net into our farm? The other uses of the connection will just be casual surfing. Thanks
