[THIN] Re: SV: Unable to kill hung process

We had a huge bout with this, it turned out to be a print driver issue,
when the users printed certain content it would hang the app and when
the user logged off and leave the process running which in turn would
consume one full CPU.

The only way to kill the process to reboot the machine.

kill.exe from the resource kit.

example:
kill -f cristmascard.exe
kill -f 1234

-f is force.

If you dont have it, i can send you the file.

Hello!

One our MFXP (Windows 2000) servers currently shows a load of 100%. It's
=3D

one winword.exe process who eats up all processor resources, and =
this=3D20
process belongs to a user who isn't logged in anymore! The session id of
=3D

this winword.exe process doesn't even show in the session list of CMC, =
=3D
and=3D20 I'm not able to kill it (neither with task manager nor with =3D
Sysinternal's=3D20
pskill) - there always appears an "Access denied" error.

How can a process without a session happen? Is there a possibility to =
=3D
get=3D20 rid of this process (other than rebooting the server)?

With kind regards,
