Most of my print driver related problems have one away since we switched =
from HP to Oki printers. The Oki drivers are very well behaved on a =
terminal server and all the features remain available. You don't have =
to "pretend" the printer is really something else to get it to work. We =
also have a few Canon imagerunners. No problems with those either.

I support a lot of nurses with a electronic charting app. They print =
charts duplexed to an Oki 24dxn. In almost two years I have not had a =
single call about any of the four we have deployed. Those of you in =
healthcare know that nurses break everything they touch.

They are also cheap. So is the toner.

I don't think the driver problems most people have is a problem with =
Citrix or even terminal server. I think it is weak/sloppy drivers from =
HP. It just happens that most people use HP. I hear about a lot of =
Lexmark problems too. Most of the remaining printer problems I have are =
all with HP printers. The 1100 seems to always go to sleep and not wake =
up.

I would be curious to see poll of the list or something of printer =
problems by printer maker/model.

Greg

Printing Definitely.

And not just from a Stability point of view. Although they cause 90% of
stability problems.

But they want to fax, scan, print to different trays, lock their print =
jobs,
different fonts, orientation etc

I haven't used a single driver that has been problem or error free.

But if the Purchasing department wouldn't focus on buying the cheapest
printers, perhaps I wouldn't have these problems. If the cost of the
problems could be added to the cost of the printer, perhaps they would =
start
to see the light. Atleast they wouldn't have a sterling accounting.

Next I would have to say is PDF conversions. Although these are minor.

Hello All,
=20

Since it's Friday I thought I'd ask something that I've been wondering =
for a
long time.

=20

I'm a consultant and I focus 100% on Citrix and server-based computing.
While I work with a lot of different IT departments, I've never actually =
had
to run my own Citrix farm day after day. (Which means I'm either totally
lucky or a total sham!)

=20

Anyway, as Citrix administrators, what's the one thing that's the =
biggest
pain in the butt in running your Citrix farms? Printing? AV? Security
Patches? Profiles?

=20

Hmm. maybe I should say "other than the users, what's the biggest pain?"
:-)

=20

Just curious,

Brian
