As far as I remember you activate your server through MS License
Clearinghouse (over Internet or phone) and then you have 90 days grace
period. W2K OS has built-in TS CAL so you do not need to buy licenses for
these PCs, XP-I'm not sure -check archives in this list. This question was
discussed some time ago. The rest of the clients like W95/98 will use
temporary TS CALs until you buy licenses or grace perion expire.

Make sure your licensing server is MS SP3 or install this:

Ther is MS whitepaper on W2K TS licensing:

Subject: [THIN] Another TS Licensing Question

Happy Wednesday -

I have yet another question about TS Licensing in a Win2k AD domain.
I have a Windows 2000 Terminal Server that I set up a while ago. I know I
now need to install Terminal Server Licensing on an AD Domain Controller.
However, when I called my lead on this, he says there's something special
that we have to do in order to it to assign licenses properly to Win2k Pro
and WinXP Pro workstations, so that we need not buy them. Isn't this
inherent in TS Licensing server? He referred me to the MSKB, which is
notorious about not being able to find what you need when you need it, and
of course *I* need it... Our users in the UK are down. Can someone help me
out and let me know if I am chasing ghosts?

Thanks much,

Jennifer
