Ferruginous are often low or on the ground. I'm used to seeing them in prairie 
dog towns where they perched on the ground and distract the prairie dogs. Then 
another ferrug will fly in low from behind and take the prey. Then they share 
the proceeds. Great find. They're gorgeous birds
