I second the comments about hummers.
Prior to the big drought we would typically have five to seven species of
hummers spend the winter with us (11 species on yard list).  During the
peak of fall migration we would go through three gallons of nectar per day,
in addition to all of the food plants we have.

The last few years we have been lucky to have five to seven hummers spend
the winter.
