Thanks to all who replied about my home computer problem.
I was able to start up the system in safe mode over the weekend and went to
device manager found had two sets of audio drivers and 2 different HDD type
46 and 47 and 3 different CD roms.(Failed to mention in previous post, this
HDD was formerly in another machine but had been working well in this
machine for about 2 months)
removed incorrect drives and 2 of the CD roms restarted computer and windows
registry did self repair and been working OK since.
Do you think I should still do a re-install of 98SE?
