Ed,Mine is a Lynksys wireless. I can go outside the house and still have a 
connection. I'm sure it's more
than 30ft.

Dish will not work..it's 2 way communication. Probably great receiving,
though.;-)
I saw one (Linksys) $120, but they don't say how much the range will be
extended.
