It sounds like the bulbs are universal except for the housing. I will keep one
new bulb in stock and can clip it into place to see if the bulb is all thats
wrong. Do the cooling fans on dlps keep running even after the set is turned
off?

before the bulb has time to cool down by the fan running after set is turned
