With Pioneer CD players, quite often the problem turns out to be an intermittant ribbon cable between the laser pickup and the main board. The Pioneer part number for all the models I have worked on is: PNP1343. If you repair cd players, it's agood idea to keep one of these in stock. You may want to double check that this is the correct part number for your model.
