Hmm, I'll have to think on this one then. The reason I made the suggestion was because of a similar problem with a Sony boombox I had. The left channel made a hum in the left channel (or would "pop" when powered down). Both channels showed a good audio signal signal , also. However, on a spectrum analyzer, it showed up different as I had suspected. I had already decided to replace one of the main filter caps before hand. I ended up replacing both to keep it a "balanced" repair. At least it worked for me that time. Anyway, as to the manual delima, for the heck of it sometime, you might take a look at our updated http://www.tech-assist.org/TECHLINKS.htm file.
