George,
How many years have you sat at your computer for hours on end,
7 days a week, 52 weeks a year, neglecting watching your kids
grow up, giving up a social life, etc., all to benefit every
other technician on the planet? Too many people either stumble
across this list/site, or are "turned on to it" by another
member. And then take it for granted!!!!I believe that the
posting guidelines are very important to maintaining the high
professional level of this list. Which just happens to be the
best email list on the internet!! Those posting guidelines
were not written in 15 minutes. They are adjusted, added to,
or taken away from regularly. True, there is/was a garbage
post that was 'allowed', BUT.... Did you even notice that all
'garbage' posts and replies followed the posting guidelines? I
doubt it. Humor is allowed occasionally to allow members to
let off a little steam. A year ago it was not allowed at all!
So, the list continues to evolve and change along with the
world that we all live in. The world where manufacturers do
NOT want items repaired out-of-warranty, and sometimes just
replace the unit in warranty. The world where manufacturers
would like to see ALL of us closed, not just the thousands
that do every year. This is a very difficult position to be
in, because, believe it or not, I am a simple one-man
operation myself. So I PERSONALLY know how difficult it is to
eke out a living in repairs today.
And this list is only a portion of what TA consists of, and
EACH and ALL have to be attended to on a daily basis.
So, George, Afana Electronics, Moreno Valley, CA, you set back
(like others have done and still do) giving your opinions on
how the list should be ran. I will say one thing: Until you've
been there, don't judge the people doing it.
And, if you don't approve of the quality of posts on here, or
the way that this list is ran, the unsubscribe link is at the
bottom of every email, including this one.
