Here's all my CTC166/167 series file cards. Tho some are not same 
symptom, they are common failures and may relate to it indirectly:
Intermittant vert: SMD R4509 between error amp and U14501 pin 6. crack 
in board trace.
Intermit. blacks out,has sound: front of vert output IC, replace C164 
(100mf@25v) and traces eaten underneath it. Another known bad cap is 
C4502 (220mf@35v)
 Excess bright,retrace: Q2901 leaking.Luma buffer, use NTE159.
Many size issues also relate to bad LA7831 vert IC.
Hope these help. Also known for tiny traces being eaten thru by cap 
fluid.Especially at front under vert area.
