Its basicly the same Story if you pick the Replacement IC or Flyback for
your Repair as a Generic one or an overstamp at half the Cost. You are
increasing the Risk that it may cause more problems down the road for you.
If you are willing to take that risk , then thats fine. As a Servicer, I
like to do things in such a way they stay fixed for the Longest Duration
possible. I always mention that to my customers when they are trying to low
ball me on the price. If they pick the Cheapie Parts, and they come back
with problems, I dont want to hear about it. All bets are off....as well as
the warranty.

I recently read that 300W ATX power supplies are not all equal (not
even close). You need to look at the current rating, not the watts.
I bought a good one (Allied) for less than $20.
Apparently they can get away with lying about the wattage rating, but
not the current rating. Just like cheap automotive stereos (100 Watts
per channel [has only a 3A fuse] - yeh, sure!)
