Jeff, the difference is in the mounting. Some screens may have to be 3 or 4 inches oversized to fit the cabinet and others only an inch. If you order a 50 inch Toshiba screen to replace a 50 inch Hitachi you may have a problem that you can't fix but if you order a 53 inch you can cut it to size. You're right that the 4:3 aspect ratio determines the size of a 50 inch screen but that is just the viewable area. By the way, I have a 51 inch fresnel with a scratch on the inside if anyone needs it but the lenticular is the one that is needed most of the time. ************************************************** Jim Myers Since 1972 Telrad Electronic Services Co. What difference could there be...still 4:3 aspect, so they would have to be the same size, I would think, Jeff Dougherty Intrepid Video TV/VCR 263 S Front St Steelton PA 17113 fax...717-564-4952 www.intrepid-video.com www.tech-repair.net ----- Original Message ----- From: "Technotronic Dimensions" <Steve@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <techassist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, August 06, 2003 4:29 PM Subject: [TechAssist] 50 Inch PJTV Screens Over in my Parts_Link Group someone was needing a 50 Inch Screen for A Hitachi 50GX30B. Another Tech responded Saying that Hitachi Only sells the Front & Back Screens together for a large Price. So he says a 50 Inch Screen is a 50 Inch Screen , and something like a Tochiba Screen from a TP50H15 (Part No. 23837513) Would work just as Well - Fit & All. I have a Client with a Hitachi 50UX26B in need of the Screen ( I am guessing Lenticular). I already spoke to 1 other Tech who also confirms this will definately work. I just wanted to be 100% Sure before I have one Drop shipped directly to my Customer, and not have to have it returned. So can anyone else vouch for this sub? Thanks.
