What are you talking about?  My panel van, 1960 with a "40 horse" will make 
at least 55, downhill with a tail wind.  You wanna go slow, try a 36 horse 
split window bus from say the 50s.  Like maybe a 56 23 Window and drive to 
the CA Classic.  All the way at 50 mph.  It will only take about 40 hours 
of driving time.  Now that's the way to travel.  You can not only take time 
to smell the roses, you can water them too on your way by.

Can we just get back to the 50s/60s when we didn't have PDAs, iPods, cell 
phones and rice burning cars, but we had the Beach Boys, slow VWs and route 
66?  And you could still work on your car without a degree in computers and 
didn't have to hire a service tech to change the headlight in your beetle 
(which by the way in the new beetle apparently burns out about every 6 
months and cost like $200 to replace including labor).
