I have my old 009 in my tool work box.
I cleaned it up, put in a new set of points, new rotor, new condenser, new cap AND a old clamp. Put it in the bus, just swapped the cap over, set the dwell, set the timing and removed the 1 bolt from the clamp to the case.
I have used it twice to eliminate the dizzy while trouble shooting.
YMMV

so i have been building up my inventory of just incase crap. one thing that i have a concern on is the distributor. i have an extra 009 would that get me by as a just incase distributor if the other one should fail?

i don't plan on running one all the time but would it get me by if i had to use it?
