Thanks for encouragement Sammie, any suggestions on places in central texas or internet that I could pick up new gaskets? ----- Original Message ---- From: sammie smith <bugcollections@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, January 11, 2007 10:30:48 AM Subject: [tcb] Re: hershey is fixed Congratulations on having an original H case engine in your 67. Take good care of it, not many of these left anymore. Good luck on the engine pull, pretty straight forward. Some people drop the engine from below and don't remove the bumper. In our normal work conditions I think it's easier to drop the bumper and pull it straight out. When installing the tank give serious consideration to installing a new sending unit. With all the labor to R&R a tank it can be false economy to go back with used parts. Where did you purchase the new gaskets(german seals)? This will be my first time to pull this engine, and quite possibly the first time it has been removed since it's manufacturing. I have a '67 with the stock 1500cc. Any other words of advice would be greatly appreciated.
