I did a quick look and since I'm pondering this issue on a couple of 'dubs for three point harnesses here's my $0.02 On my DC in the rear I bought Sand Rail weld on tabs and reinforced the area on the seat rest. Welding 1/4" plate on 40+ year old 16 gauge isn't very effective. The upper mount is still something I'm thinking about. Invariably I can't fish some metal behind there so I'm looking at plate (formed) with plug welds. Here's a thread to get you started. http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=206196&highlight=seatbelt anyway, there's a reference to this one vendor that I'm looking at. The issue on a three point is reinforcement of the material. If you could get a piece of 3/8" plate up behind the pillar then you'd be in business for the upper mount. http://www.wescoperformance.com/seat-belt-install-3-point-retract.html I hope you can work it out. -----Original Message----- >From: Denis Dodson <coocoo@xxxxxxx> >Sent: Feb 6, 2008 4:48 PM >To: tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx >Subject: [tcb] Re: Booster seats and shoulder belts in a Bus > >If the only reason for getting rid of that beautiful bus is kid safety, I >would buy 3 or 5 point harnesses.
