Hi Carol

You can stop talks reading out all the words the predictive text thinks
you want before you've finished typing the word you want.

If you go into the Talks screen with Talks, star, you can set these
options as follows:

In the Speech tab, set KeyEcho to Words.

In the Advanced tab, set T9 KeyEcho to no.

Then when you type your text message, you'll only hear the word that you
want when you press space. Actually, it may not necessarily be the word
that you want, but you can correct it in predictive mode with the Star key
that cycles round the suggested words.

Hope that helps.

Cheers

Kevin

I struggled when I tried about three times running ... and on the fourth I

got there and now love it! It does take a bit of perseverance.

For me the secret was just getting to know when I'd have the right word
spoken and not to worry about the jibberish I heard beforehand. I do now
listen to the jibberish because I'm usually able to spot when I put in a
wrong key press and so I do even find it helpful to listen to that now.

I can't text twhen I'm too tired. It does take a fair amount of
concentration for me.

Hope this might help a bit.
