Thanks so much. That is all good information. Now, just a couple more
questions: Do I need to "home network" the computers and phone to talk
together, or will this just become possible after the steps you've outlined?
(This just seems as though it will give me access to WiFi so that I can get my
email freely etc; but what if I want to look at my phone's drive using the
computers, as James was suggesting? Do I need to use the software he mentioned
a couple of days back in order to do this?

Sorry about all the questions but I like to ensure I know where I'm heading
before I start, if I can ...

  Carol,

OK, go to tools, settings, connection, access points, in here press options
then new access point;

  use the following settings:

connection name - of your choice, this is what your phone will refer to it
as, you could call it home WiFi,

data bearer should be wireless LAN

WLAN network name - in here do a search and select the SSID (WLAN name) which
yours is named, note you may find other wireless networks appearing here which
belong to your neighbours etc.

  network status - public

  WLAN network mode - infrastructure

WLAN security mode - WPA (note if you're using WEP you must select that)

  WLAN security settings - this is a menu in it you'll find;

WPA / WPA2 should be on pre shared key

pre shared key - this is where you type in the WPA shared key

  WPA2 only mode off

home page which is back on the main new access point window can be left as
none.

  Neil,

I'm also looking for these answers.

We both have Nokia N95's. I too already have a home network set up with WPA
access.

I am wondering whether I have to use the "Add" wizard and whether again I
have to run NET.EXE on both computers, or if there's another way to do this.

  Thanks for any info.

Eleanor, I hope I haven't muddied the waters for you now and that we'll both
get the information we need.

  Thanks.

How is your home network configured, open access, shared WEP or WPA key?
what phone do you have please?

necessary questions to give suitable answer.

    Hi
How should I do this please? I would be using my home wireless network.

    Eleanor
