Brill Steve, that would be useful to know if there is a way. I know
that you can redefine the multimedia key on the N70, for example, but I
just can't find anything relating to it on either the N82 or the N95.

Unfortunately, to the best of my knowledge and belief, you can't
redefine this key, nor on the N82. If you go where you suggest Steve,
with Active Standby off, you can only customise the left and right soft
keys, and the five-way joypad, but not the multimedia key.

I am not sure about this, but I think you can redefine the multimedia
key as they call it, in Tools, Settings, Standby Mode, Shortcuts. Don't
quote me on it, as my battery is flat at the moment on the N95. I will
check it a bit later, but I think you can do it.

I am trying to help out a sighted friend with a Nokia N95 and as it does
not have TALKS on it I can't have a play around and find this out for
myself. On the right of the keypad just between the key 2 and call end
key is a largish square key which is set up as a shortcut key to launch
the music player. Is it possible to set this key to an alternative
shortcut and if so, how?
