Hi Paul,

Yes, the difference is the N86 has mass memory as well as a memory card.
8GB of it..  So you have up to three places you can store apps.  Phone
memory, Mass memory or Memory Card if available.

i use the N82 and all my files are on the memory card and it works fine! 
don't know if it's different for the N86 though!
