Thanks.  I'll do without it this time around and see wwhat happens.

Presumably you lose everything on that mass memory. Does any of the usual Nokia data reside there and will need to be put on once again?

Hi,

For the N86, go to Menu > Applications > Office > Mass
Memory E > then Options > Format memory.

Only do this when doing an update, otherwise it's not
really necessary. Whereas Symbian isn't the tidiest
operating system when it comes to cleaning up after
itself, it's not bad, so formatting is certainly not
necessary on a regular basis.
