Hi Barbra,
To me it sounds like you have 3G enabled alongside WLAN, constant packet data
connection and maybe the internal GPS depending on if your phone has any of
these.
Assuming you are near a weak 3G area the phone will constantly try to connect
to it, 3G as it is drains battery, but switching back and forth does it more
so. The same with wireless networking, the phones are by default set to search
and find access points, again a battery killer. Same true for packet data
connections.
Most of these things are found in Tools Settings, you should turn network to
GSM only in the phone menu in tools settings, under network, you can turn
packet data to when needed rather than when available in tools settings
connections access points, press options, and scroll to it. And you can
normally also find wireless in here.
With these things all on though, it is easy to consider your battery dying so
quickly.

Some of you may remember my questions last week re a power problem. My battery
goes flat in a very short space of time even with little use. It goes so dead
that upon recharge I need to reset the date and time. I purchased a new battery
and guess what? Was on full bars when I went to bed last night and about 5.15
this morning it was down to 1 bar and I was getting the low battery warning.
Would I be right to assume then that the problem is with the phone and not the
battery? ARe there things I could try before going back to Nokia as the phone
is still under warranty? I have Bluetooth switched off unless I am using it and
as far as I know there is nothing else set which would drain power.
