The voice is extremely synthetic too, unlike TALKS/JAWS.

Well, it has ringtones consisting of snorting pig, mooing cow, naying horse
etc, typical RNIB treating their customers like they were five years old

So I'm not the only one who wouldn't listen to any technical advice
given by the RNIB. I responded to an add in one of their magazines about their
range of accessible phones only to find that range consisted of one phone - the
famous (Or rather infamous) Oasis.

Well, that just shows that RNIB have got it wrong again. Does it
have anything to do with their promotion of the Oasis phone.

I had a 3G phone once in the shape of the Nokia 6630 and TALKS
worked fine with that.

                Hi their

I would avoid 3g mobiles phone because talks does not work with
them.

                  Hi Barbara,

Yup, I used a Panasonic X700, basically, forget it! In fact,
I'd advise you to avoid any phone other than Nokia for talks. Reason for this
is that Nokia developed the Simbian platform and apparently, the version they
licence to other manufacturers is not the same version. There are some
variations which affects the performance of Talks with them.

                  Steve

                    Hi all

Has anyone on here ever used a phone other than a Nokia
with TALKS? If so, what was the handset and how well did it work?

                    Cheers.
