I have a solution, even hot key potentially. Download a program from the web called "quick mix,"
http://www.jfwlite.com/programsand create a volume configuration containing a muted whatever input you're using on the sound card, e.g. muted line input. Quickmix stores volume control configurations in *.qmx files which can be called by hot key since any short cut can be created to call it and run it which immediately acts on volume control. A bit clunky, but it will work.

Hi,I have a request for a future upgrade to Studio Recorder (which I and the volunteers really love). Is it possible to have a simple shortcut key for the mute feature. We use it a lot in editing our NLS talking book recordings. Thanks for such a great product.Sheila Winther Volunteer Services Coordinator Idaho Commission for Libraries 325 W.
