Greg – The order now is just a placement as you’ll have a 1/17 chance of
drafting first.
After tonight we will have a better idea where everyone drafts. Keep in mind
that we will snake the draft which means the second round will be the reverse
order as the first round. All odd rounds will be the same order as the first
row and even rounds will be the same order as the second round.
It’s possible that we could use 15 minutes time slots. That would decrease the
draft time by 25%.
Moving the draft 1 round in 2 days would really lengthen our preseason. This
draft would be 20 days long and the rookie/free agent draft would be another 14
days. We wouldn’t be playing games until the second to third week of December
and we wouldn’t finish the regular season until the end of May and the playoff
would roll through July. Personally, I’d rather not be playing Strat into July
after our long winters. My timeline is for us to start games Dec 1.
During a time slot draft you really don’t have to be checking email all day
like a non-timed email draft. It’s just a 20 minutes time each day (and even
less time than that to actually make the pick) to make your one pick. If you
are out and about just ask someone to text you with the picks that you mixed
during the day and then use your short list to select a player. Most of the
work will be at time prepping for your next pick. You’ll know who was protect
the night before. And even then the two coaches at the end only would need a
17-player list every other day since we are snaking the draft.

The draft will be by email where coaches will pick during their timeslot or

Hi - sorry if I missed a previous explanation for this, but what is the means
by which we'll draft? Is it done by email?
