my acer has no option to turn off secure boot unfortunately so I am unable to
install Slackware based linux distributions, and its looking like acer may
require that bios passwords are used if you do want to have no secure boot, for
those who do not know, a bios password is a password for your pc bios, you have
to enter it every time you go into the boot menu, the bios settings, and in
rare cases, booting from your hard drive, its the only way to disable secure
boot on an acer notebook
