Efi can be jiggered with post-install, but you have to know what you're
doing, but secure boot if enabled will prevent you from installing
anything that doesn't have a certain key, usually from micro$oft, thus
my earlier reference to it.
If you want to deal with disabling it, you have to get some peepers and
go into the setup and do it from there, or if you get a computer from a
store, that isn't a big chain gang store, you can get the techs there
to disable it for you, especially if you let them know you're a Linux user.
I even had peepers to disable it on my Acer that had an oem version of
windows 7 back in the day so that when windows inevitably puked, I
installed Vinux at the time and it worked flawlessly for a long time.
