Claudio, The problem is that the MSAA object is not refreshing properly when moving between controls. This affects the upper ribbon and the primary controls in the backstage area. If you press tab and then shift tab the focus change will force the object to refresh and you'll be able to here where you are. There are some other tidbits that will help you. Pressing alt takes you to one of the tabs in the upper ribbon. Left and right arrow move between each tab but no announcements will be made. To check which tab you just moved to, press tab and then shift tab. You can open the backstage by pressing alt and then F but you must press each key separately and not as a "chord". JAWS might only say "zero" after this but you can press tab followed by shift tab to force the proper announcement, which should be "backstage info". You move between each primary control in the backstage with up and down arrows. Again there will be no announcements but you can get one by pressing tab followed by shift tab. So, to trawl through each primary control you would have to press down arrow followed by tab followed by shift tab repeatedly. Some of the primary controls are like tabs, so you can press tab or shift tab to move around inside them. Others are just a single control. If you land on a single control, pressing tab or shift tab will move you around which ever tab was last opened. EG: when you first open the backstage the info tab is opened, this is like the old score info in Sib 5/6. If you then down arrow to the save as button and press tab, you'll land on the first control in the info tab, which is still open. Pressing shift tab takes you back to the save as button. It's a little confusing, but if you play around a little you'll get used to it. One other point, the JAWS virtual ribbon will have no affect in Sibelius 7. This feature is designed to work only with the ribbon menus made by Microsoft and the Sibelius ribbon is not compatible. Hope this helps, Dan -----Original Message----- From: sib-access-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:sib-access-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Claudio Sacco Sent: 22 December 2011 16:47 To: sib-access@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [sib-access] Sibelius 7.1 Hi Sibelius 7 users Now my Sibelius 7.1 is activated. I could do it only with sighted help. Sibelius 7 is driving in a bad direction; this is true for Jaws and NVDA: In the BackStage you don't get speech response anymore. And the ribbon main row doesn't speak eiter, when pressing the arrow keys. Pressing the arrow keys advances to the next point, but if you want to know, where you are, you must leave the ribbon with the escape key and repress the Alt key. Very, very bad news.
