What about "buzz"? This brings us back to SI, because buzz on a bus(s) is unwanted ;-) Bart That bus/buss thing has been puzzling me, too. Personally, I have this probably irrational dislike for the "buss" spelling= . I reserve Buss for fuses only (www.bussmann.com). English is a second language to me (but as a guess, I can speak Arpad's fir= st language reasonably well :-) so I looked up a couple of on-line dictio= naries. The the result is that bus is what you would expect (and it's sh= ort for omnibus) but buss is... (Source: www.allwords.com) "Buss (n.) n.=20 1. A kiss; a rude or playful kiss; a smack.=20 2. To kiss; esp. to kiss with a smack, or rudely.=20 3. A small strong vessel with two masts and two cabins; -- used in the he= rring fishery." Hmmm... I guess what would ultimately decide the question about the spelli= ng is finding out what was the origin of the word, that is how it came to= be a terminus technicus in electronics.
