I don't know if Schutzhund responses should would be right for the average dog going through the temperament test. I ran a dog through one in July and she passed with flying colors, but whereas she might have gone after the aggressive stranger on my property, in a dark alley or as he approached my car, she looked at him, stood her ground, watched intently and did nothing else. This was how almost all the dogs responded - stable and watchful, but not foolish. I would definately fault the tester in the case of the dogs at the National - although we still want them to be in character of the breed, they still need to exist in this society and I would rather my dog watched a stranger than went after everyone who was vaguely different.
