I too clap for all the dogs , but some I clap louder for. I feel it is rude
not to clap for all of the dogs as every dog in the ring is LOVED by some
one.  If I can't clap for all I don't clap for any of them. JMHO

If I understand your post, you would clap for a dog that would spook. I just 
don't get that. I usually don't notice what is going on outside my ring but the 
crowd claps after I exam a dog and it spooks that is a different story.  I have 
had this happen to me, after examing a dog and it spooked, decided to leave it 
on since points were close.  I sent the dog around and crowd went aps sh**. 
Once the dog finished going around I excused it, just don't get it when people 
who suppose to love this breed with clap for a spook. IMO a dog with bad 
temperament just does not seem to be a good GSD.
